Eamon Costello (Kerry) Ltd were appointed as main contractor and PCSC for the full scope at Hawley Park.
The works were located in a busy residential location with 80 fully occupied dwelling directly adjacent to the works area. These works required the full removal of all pavement surfaces and the reconfiguration of existing drainage to suit regraded and realigned carriageways. Our finishes brief was for brushed reinforced concrete pathways with brick edge detail throughout. The carriageway was planed to remove existing surfaces and regraded to achieve better drainage.
The surface was complete in Dense Bitumen Macadam in 14mm chip. Through a well-planned and coordinated pedestrian and traffic management strategy it was possible to deliver the scheme while maintaining full access including assisted access to the dwellings at all times. A sound traffic management and stakeholder liaison plan ensured all residents were fully briefed and notified of upcoming works and designated access routes. We ensured our impact on residents was minimised by completing the scope on a phased basis which lessened our site of possession at any one time. Overall the scheme was a resounding success with many resident contacting our office to compliment the courtesy and professionalism with which the project was undertaken.
