Eamon Costello (Kerry) Ltd was pleased to recently host the CIF/CWHT backed health screening initiative at two large sites operated by the company.
Screening took place over four days, at The Bon Secour and University Hospital Kerry sites covering 80 personnel and focused on the occupational health and lifestyles of operatives to assess their physical well being and advise them on positive changes they could make to improve their health where required.
The programme has been introduced by Eamon Costello (Kerry) Ltd to inform employees in relation to their health and also to educate them further in terms of occupational health and safety in line with the HSA’s occupational Health and safety campaign. From June the HSA will be visiting 250 construction sites nationwide with a particular emphasis on health issues such as exposure to carcinogenic dusts, manual handling and skin cancer.
Welcoming the re-introduction of the scheme company director Declan Costello said …’the occupational health and safety of all our employees is key to the company’s safety goals. Workplace health screening provides a confidential and easily accessible service, free of charge to our employees who can see tangible benefits from the advice they receive. Previously this screening made a positive impact on many employees and we are pleased to be able to afford our operatives this opportunity again.
