The project consisted of the refurbishment and extension of the existing swimming pool hall, staff room, boiler room, pool plant room, store and the upgrading of the mechanical and electrical installations as well as the reconfiguration of changing areas and the provision of a new foyer, reception area and offices at Tralee Regional Sports and Leisure Center. The gross floor area of the buildings measured within the external walls is approximately 2050sq/m.
To facilitate the works our project brief included the demolition of a large section of the existing facility including a 2-3 storey brick swimming hall, and removal of existing asbestos roof sheeting.
Due to the nature of the building and associated heavily serviced areas Eamon Costello(Kerry) Ltd were appointed as services coordinator for the entire project.
Throughout the project elements of the facility were closed on a phased basis to accommodate the works. This was achievable only through defined, and controlled project and site management which ensured smooth changeovers and minimum disruption to services at times of integration.
