Eamon Costello (Kerry) were proud to be main contractor for the full and comprehensive restoration of Ard na Sidhe Country House – an arts and crafts house in the popular Elizabethan style of 1913.
The works consisted of the full repair and restoration of the external fabric together with an exciting programme of internal alterations and renovations that re-instated and restored much of the original Arts & Crafts character.
This work included the restoration of original joinery, decorative plasterwork and stone chimney pieces, while new timber flooring, timber wall panelling and internal doors were added. The magnificent oak staircase was re-configured within an impressive new entrance hall arrangement, natural stone flagged flooring and oak panelled walls. All of the bedrooms were remodelled to reinstate their original room proportions and the internal en-suite bathrooms replaced with new Edwardian-style bathrooms all with natural lighting. The new interior decoration features polished wooden floors, decorative rugs and carpets, timber-panelled walls, together with rich upholstery, window dressings and wall paper by Morris & Company
