Skellig 618 is a bespoke single pot whiskey and gin distillery situated in Caherciveen and ECKL are delighted to be part of this exciting development for Caherciveen and the Iveragh Peninsula.
ECKL’s scope was to undertake remediation of a vacant existing industrial building and re-purpose it as a Gin 7 Whiskey production facility with adjoining visitor centre and guest experience areas. The overall project has been set-out in a series of phases to align with the founders ambitious plan to develop the full site into a Whiskey distillery and warehousing facility.
To make the vision a reality ECKL stripped back the internal industrial fabric to bare essentials. Internal demolitions, service reconfigurations and additions along with a revised fire strategy and statutory compliance elements were included. Many technical parameters associated with the handling of alcohol in the making of spirits were overcome to the satisfaction of the regulatory authorities.
To ensure the development was ‘on-brand’ ECKL created bespoke furniture, counters and display walls to align with the company palette.
